The Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League (PNGRFL) has reaffirmed its confidence in Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Stanley Hondina, reappointing him for another three-year term.
The announcement was made by PNGRFL Chairman Sandis Tsaka, following the board’s performance review process.
“The board of the PNGRFL are pleased with the significant milestones and progress of the organization in the last three years Stanley has served as CEO,” Tsaka stated.
“We have seen three strategic plans come into effect, as well as the successful PNG NRL Bid, amongst the revival of participation in our sport and affiliations since COVID.”
Hondina, first appointed CEO in 2021 after serving as acting CEO, has played a key role in restructuring PNGRFL’s systems and processes. His leadership has guided the game’s development at all levels.
Humbled by his reappointment, Hondina expressed gratitude to the PNGRFL Board and his team.
“It is a huge responsibility, and I will continue to do my best for the development and growth of the game, its players, officials, and volunteers,” he said.
His second term officially began on February 17, 2025, with a continued focus on PNGRFL’s vision: Better People, Better Sport, Better Nation.
