Imbonggu the land between two mountains, stretches from the Kagul river bordering WHP and SHP to the villages surrounding Mendi township and beyond.
Under the stewardship of the Minister for Inter – Government Relations and Member for Imbonggu Hon. Pila Kole Niningi, the second Imbonguu show is set to take place at Walume, where the district headquarters is located.
Traditional singsing groups from all over Southern Highlands and the Highlands region will converge into Walume, on the 15 – 17th September to showcase their cultures and celebrate the nation’s 46th independence.
Papua New Guinea is richly blessed with more than 7000 cultural groups and hundreds of them from the highlands will gather together with the people of Imbonggu and Southern Highlands for the show.
The three days event see the Cultural Show happen on the 15th-16th and the Grand opening of the Imbongguu District Community Development Center to be officiated by Prime Minister Hon. James Marape in September 17, 2021.
