Mineral Resources Development Corporation (MRDC) and Petroleum Resources Kutubu (PRK) through their Community Investment Trust Fund (CITF) delivered to the Foe and Faso people in Inu, Lake Kutubu a life-saving ambulance and Genset on the eve of Christmas.

Local leader and Chairman of Kutubu Secondary School Dabura Kamuna welcomed MRDC Managing Director Augustine Mano and his delegation to the Inu Community that is located on the banks of Lake Kutubu. “We will receive this ambulance for the Inu Health Centre and the Genset for Kutubu Secondary School as an early Christmas gift,” said Kamuna while expressing gratitude to MRDC and PRK.MRDC Managing Director Augustine Mano on his second visit to Inu paid tribute to the health workers, teachers, and other public servants who provide services in the isolated project areas.”It is through your dedication and hard work that keeps you all here in Kutubu and I thank you all for your sacrifices. This ambulance and Genset will now make your great works a little easier.”The prolific Managing Director stressed MRDC’s motto of “Leaving No Child Behind” and added that they will continue to roll out more impact projects through their Community Investment Trust Fund (CITF) going forward.

Inu Health Centre and Kutubu Secondary School were built by the Evangelical Church of Papua New Guinea but have never been serviced by an ambulance or a high-powered Genset since the Kutubu oil began. That will now change. The ambulance will provide mobility to support the Health Centre’s operations and most importantly save lives by transporting referral patients to Mendi General Hospital and Hagen while the Genset will light up the Lake Kutubu school.PRK Board Director Johnny Yawari thanked PRK and MRDC boards for approving his submission to buy the ambulance for the 6000 plus people of the Inu Community and the population of the greater Kutubu area who accesses those facilities. The Wameblood frontman who is also the Chairman of the Foe people and represents them at the PRK board celebrated his birthday which was on that day by commissioning the new Genset.

MRDC is continuing to serve the people with honor and dignity in the most remote areas of PNG, with the limited resources under the MRDC community investment trust program. These services are especially intended for the landowners and beneficiaries within the existing oil fields and the PNG LNG footprints.
