Kagua Rugby League Registers with PNG RFL for 2025 Season
After years of dormancy, Kagua Rugby League is back, thanks to the leadership of former intercity player Walter Mirupasi.
Not only has the competition been revived, but it has now officially registered with PNG RFL for the 2025 season, creating a vital pathway for local talent to gain exposure at the national level.
Walter saw the need to re-establish the league as a way to engage youth in productive activities, steering them away from negative influences like homebrew and marijuana.
The competition provides a structured environment for young players in the area to develop their skills.
Beyond the field, the leagueโs revival is expected to stimulate economic activity and encourage further development in Kagua-Erave.
Youths in the district are now calling on leaders, elites, and corporate organizations to support this initiative and help build and better Kagua Erave.
